George G. Maina received his doctorate in Molecular Virology from Kenyatta University in 2013. Dr. Gachara conducts translational molecular HIV studies focusing on ascertainment of and prevention of the emergence of drug resistance. To this end, he has implemented and conducted a community relevant research project entitled, “Assessing the cascade of HIV care in a rural South African setting” under the mentorship of Pascal Bessong, primarily at Univen.
