Spending my summer in Guatemala was a rich, eye-opening experience. The foreign environment allowed me to challenge myself in new ways I hadn’t thought possible before. Through the exposure of a culture established upon principles of selflessness and hard work I was able to mature beyond typical academic scopes and discover the true meaning of benevolence and acceptance of others living under different circumstances than myself.
