Marcel Durieux is involved in a number of global health projects in East Africa, all involving training in anesthesiology. He has worked with Madaktari Africa educating anesthesia technicians in several locations in Tanzania. With Health Volunteers Overseas he has taught in Malawi. He has taught anesthesiology residents in Rwanda with the Canadian Anesthesiologists' Society International Education Foundation / American Society of Anesthesiologists Global Humanitarian Outreach program.
