Ellen Ledwaba

Global Infectious Disease Research Training Fellow | 2016

Ellen Ledwaba received her masters degree in Microbiology at University of Venda (UNIVEN) with a focus on infectious diseases affecting children in rural communities of Limpopo Province, South Africa. Currently she is a PhD candidate in the GIDRT program under the supervision of Dr. Guerrant (Department of Infectious diseases, UVa), Dr. Nataro and Dr. Santiago (Department of Pediatrics) and Prof. Potgieter (Department of Microbiology, UNIVEN). Her main focus is training on interaction of virulence genes and pathogenesis of Enteroaggregative, Enteropathogenic and Enterotoxigenic E. coli infections. After the program she will continue with the project for her PhD in Microbiology at UNIVEN.
