The Class of 1985 Nancy Walton Pugh Scholarship Fund

The UVA School of Medicine Class of 1985 honored their classmate, Dr. Nancy Walton Pugh, by establishing this scholar award in her name. Dr. Walton Pugh worked in Brazil as a student at the UVa School of Medicine and she is honored for her commitment to global medicine.

The scholar award provides support for 4th year medical students conducting international electives in Tanzania, Ghana, Guatemala, Rwanda and elsewhere. Support from this award is a special honor and is most often awarded to highly committed students who conduct multiple international rotations during their 4th year. This pivotal funding makes it possible for many students to engage more broadly with the global opportunities available through the School of Medicine.
