CGHE provides travel support for 4th year medical students pursuing clinical or research rotations in resource-limited settings. Electives conducted at an approved UVa School of Medicine International Elective site including South Africa, Uganda, Rwanda, Costa Rica, India, and Tanzania are eligible for funding support.
Generally, funding support covers the approximate cost of International airfare.
The annual application deadline is May 31st for rising 4th year medical students.
The CGHE Scholar Award in Medicine was established in 1978 by CGH Founding Director, Dr. Richard Guerrant.
