Early Life Interventions in Childhood in Tanzania (ELICIT)

Project Details

This project seeks to test specific interventions as means of improving outcomes important for child thriving. These interventions are designed to low-cost and potentially scalable and include both a package approach (in the case of the Nutrition domain) and individual approaches (in the case of antibiotic administration in the Infectious Disease domain and parent-child interaction sessions in the case of Child Development domain). We would judge these interventions to be successful if they result in measureable improvements in childhood growth and learning.

Project History

This project began because we found very high levels of childhood stunting/malnutrition/poor growth at our rural research site in Tanzania and sought a way to intervene.
